David Walliams dropped by publishing house.
Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
A spokesman for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was made after an review of reports of questionable actions involving young women.
The publisher declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
He has published in excess of 40 works combined, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
