Chalobah Expected to Replace Guehi in England National Team
The Chelsea star followed his brother Nathaniel in representing England, becoming the twenty-first duo of siblings to earn caps for the national team.
Trevoh Chalobah is set to be added to the Three Lions selection to replace unavailable Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is set to meet up with the national side for England's final World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Serbia, although it has yet to be officially announced.
The England team have already qualified for next summer's World Cup.
Chalobah was given his initial invitation under England manager Thomas Tuchel in May and then earned his first cap against the Senegalese team.
In September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unlucky to be excluded from the team for qualifying games against Serbia and Andorra, and also didn't call him up for the following October international break.
Tuchel has been an key figure in Chalobah's career, having handed him his Chelsea debut in 2021.
Chalobah has played in almost every matches for Chelsea this season, with the club occupying third spot in the English top flight, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the Champions League.
Guehi suffered a injury to his foot in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League success over AZ Alkmaar recently.
There are expected to be further additions to the selection. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (a concussion) are set to pull out from the squad.
