Battlefield 6 Gamers Are Convinced: Tasks Are Way Too Hard
The release of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 received widespread acclaim, especially for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, a growing number of players are protesting against several of the title's toughest challenges, which are required to access certain guns.
Players have started using custom matches set up using the custom game tool to complete them, highlighting just how arduous these assignments have become.
Comprehending BF6 Tasks
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, as opposed to the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. There are four classes of assignments, but where most merely grant skins and a few gadgets, completing the weapon assignments is the sole method of getting twelve from the forty-one main guns present in the game.
A number of these locked weapons might eventually make their appearance on lists of the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration via Reddit
On Reddit, players are reasonably sharing their frustrations about how challenging and repetitive a number of these challenges are. One user pointed out one of the most extreme examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs
"This mission is so terrible and totally unreasonable, I want to scream in frustration," is a comment that illustrates just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer benefits in combat as it did in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is extremely unreliable and functions solely at very short distances, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. That player also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that task would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Overly Demanding Mission
A different forum member highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, this time in the sniper rifle category to obtain the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills from more than 200 meters away with marksman guns
This is tough enough on its own, but there's another important point to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at those extended distances.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but because there are just nine maps in the game at present, it restricts you to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and perhaps Operation Firestorm at a push if you want to snipe from over 200m away.
The Bypass
However, there is a solution: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a feature that enables you to create personalized matches on any map you prefer, complete with bots. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.
However, when tackling the tasks in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unorthodox manner that offers no advantage to anyone, who can fault a player for completing them in a custom game so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Future Adjustments
It is expected if several of these tasks are made easier in the coming days or weeks, because if they're not, a portion of the user base simply are unlikely to obtain the locked firearms.
For now, the audience continues to share their thoughts on these challenging battlefield assignments, anticipating a more balanced overall gameplay in coming revisions.
